Wheels (a new treat too)
« on: February 08, 2009, 11:32:00 AM »
A guy from C2 (c squared), which is a VW only mechanic/mod shop, right behind me and asked me for a huge favor, he wanted his brand new wheels painted white to match his car. I told him no way, white is the worst color to deal with and I hate doing it. I evenutally folded and took on the project.

They turned out nice! They are just barrels and it's a crappy camera phone pic, but you get the idea.

Yeah they are BBC's. They have a polished lip that bolts on. I am doing the center caps up for the guy right now as I speak..

I'm also going to "chrome" powder coat his throttlebodies.

why white?

His car color is Alpinewhite and he wanted them to match his car. A lot of people come in and want the color on their wheels different. I think matching the car is a little lame and tacky, but not my crap so what ever, as long as I'm paid I don't care.

A guy dropped off some old Trans Am wheel made by "Western Wheels". I am in the process of cutting them now, I think some of the car buffs will like these. They are looking darn good, considering how much corosion they had on them from those damn clip on wheel weights.

Word of advice, ditch those things. They like to eat the finish on your wheels.

Any way I will post pictures tomorrow after they are done.

As promised...

They turned out really good. The guy was stoked!

He was telling me he remembers when he bought the car brand new and the wheels didn't look that good then. Makes me happy when people get all amp'd about our work. Even though it's not like a "rewarding" job it can be some times, just to see how happy people get over this kind of thing.

Now lets hope no one scratches em putting the tires on!!!!!

I watched a guy spend all kinds of $$ on rims only to have some hole in the wall shop put his tires on....

Machine scraped and inch of chrome off the entire outside of the rim.....

Gorgeous wheels btw!  ;D

We get a lot of business because of that exact thing. Car washes too, the kind where your tire goes in that rail? They will chew a wheel up really quick.

Nice job!

Thank you!

We blast em clean, repaint them, then those got machined on the lathe (my job), and then powder coated.
