The jetting and carb settings are different between the two models.  There is a chart in the carb FAQ that shows this.

There are also differences in the frame, the kick starter and foot pegs to accommodate all the pipes on one side of the bike.

Not saying it can't be done.  But, you'll have to be more creative than just using nuts and bolts.

Cheers,

Edit:  I forgot about the brake pedals being different, and the frame features that allow it's operation to clear the muffler and 4 pipes on one side.

I can answer the fitment problem. It will be right up against your rear brake peg. you will have to do some creative heating/bending to clear it.

What I did was bolt the pipes up, used an oxy- torch to heat up the pipes nice and red, put a breaker bar into the end and bend as needed. I can stand on the brake as hard as I can now, and it barely contacts the exhaust. This bend does create a kind of akward position for a muffler, so I am going to have the muffler shop bend an additional piece to create an "upswept" position for the muffler.

I'll see if i can snap a pic this afternoon. I am ALMOST certain the pipes are off an F bike, but not 100%.
The brake hits a few inches before the pipes meet at the collector.

That's actually a78 CB550 K.
I thought i'd need the f models brake arm to clear the 4 into 1 exhaust, i was misinformed.
so i do not need the pieces.
But here is a bigger pic.

It appears the F brake pedal comes much further out from the frame vs. the K. There is no way the exhaust would fit between the frame and brake like the F

Yes that's exactly right, you'd need the F brake pedal and shaft assembly.  But you'll probably run into fitment issues as the K frame doesn't have the tang to hold the spring that keeps the pedal up.  You'll see mine doesn't have this as well.  I've compared to my F frame and this tang is on an integral part of the frame that the splined brake shaft rotates in.

As I understood it, all the after market 4 into 1s were made to fit onto either the F or K models.  It's only Honda's F model header/muffler that requires the F model bits (pegs, brake lever, kick start) so it will still tuck next to the frame.

I'm afraid Nick's setup isn't going to fare well while canyon carving in right hand turns. :(

I can't help you with your question, but if the pipes you're taking off the bike are in decent shape, I'd be interested in possibly purchasing them from you.
