Stretching frame down tubes
« on: March 18, 2009, 03:24:48 PM »
Anybody have advice for me on stretching the down tubes on my 75 cb750k. I put a hardass on it and 6" over forks now I need to level it and I have gathered stretching the down tubes is the best way to do it so any details would be appreciated and pics of the process would be the #$%*.. Thanks in advance

First piece of advice, treat all of this work like your life depends on it....

BECAUSE IT DOES!

Second, hondachopper forums:  http://www.hondachopper.yuku.com/  Great info, great people (some are the same great people we have here).

Third, hondachopper technical tips:  http://www.hondachopper.com/garage.html

Especially this one, in this case:  Frame Alterations: The Art of Doing it Right

Fourth, oh, and did I mention that you could DIE!?!?!?!?!?!  Use a skilled and experienced weldor to do the work.

Fifth, measure and/or calculate your trail.  Getting this wrong could also make you dead.

Sixth, show us some pics, I'm curious to see your hardtail conversion.

cheers
