Haven't kept this thread up to date as much as I would have like, so here's a small update.

She's about 95% complete.  I've been blasting her all around Chicago for over a month now and she's running great.  She can be a #$%* sometimes, but soon I'll figure out the sweets spots on her tuning.

Here's a picture of her current state.

I still need to finalize the exhaust, wrap the seat pan, and get the painted rear fender mounted.  Other than that, she's good to go for the summer.

If you're in the Chicago area, you can't miss me blasting down the streets.  Western Ave, Ashland Ave and everything in between is my main stomping ground, but I like to venture out into all parts of the city over the summer.

i'm not a hard core bobber fan, although i do like 'em, but this has got to be one of my favorite projects.

the results? wow!

more, bigger, pictures please! all of a sudden the current bike wallpaper is coming up short. seriously, even harley purists have to give a thumbs up to this.

Love it!  I really like the way those nobbies look.  Are you going to add the rear fender like you had in some of your mockup pics?  Seems like it needs a splash of color in the rear.

Do you have that Wing and "Honda" as a graphic you would be willing to share?  I love that look and would like to try my hand a doing something like it.  If so, shoot me a PM and I'll give you my e-mail.

Thanks for all the compliments.  I'm glad it can be an inspiration to some.  I'm 100% happy with the way it turned out, and yes, I do get Thumbs Up from Harley guys when I blast by them.   I was never a bobber fan before (more of a cafe' guy) but this project sparked my interest and I'd love to do more.

As far as the honda graphic on the tank.  I just used this graphic:

and told my buddy who painted it to lay down all the metal flake orange and then cut this logo out of the black stripe so that the logo would be the metal flake.  I photoshopped it first to see how I like it:

and I loved it, and so did everybody else.

I do have a rear fender that my buddy is painting for me.  It'll be the same color scheme with the orange and he'll tie in the black stripe somewhere on it.  It does need the extra color in back, so I can't wait to see it when it's finished.
