These are the expensive stealthy things that get hidden

MRieck Stage IV head with KPM 5mm conversion kit 34mm intake valves, smaller stronger lighter springs, smaller stronger lighter keepers, EXTENSIVE porting and polishing, etc

APE lightened balanced crank with Carrillo rods

APE 900 cylinders with NOS Henry Abe 900 kit

 ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D

Those 5mm retainer weigh 4 grams each Jerry. A Ti retainer for the stock valve weighs 9g. The stock 32mm intake valve weighs 47.4g while the 34mm 5mm stem valve weighs in at 36.6g. Stock exhaust valve 43g...5mm exhaust valve 29.8g. A CycleX 32mm Superflow intake valve weighs 46.1g just to let you know.

I totally agree.   I am glad I have pics to prove what my engine has inside, from the outside you only get a hint as to what is inside - my CR carbs are a good indicator.

Well the CAD is just about done....some details to address. Unfortunately my friend was knocked out with an upper respiratory infection that basically put him out of action for several weeks. The design looks good. The block will basically have the same number fins as OEM....maybe 1 more. I could have it made to have about 30% more fins but they would be delicate and it would look a radial aircraft engine. ;) The fins will taper in length just as OEM too. Anyway....it will have an oring groove on request and...the best part...reliefs in the oil drain back galleys to accommodate hi temp o rings. This will be standard on all blocks. The block will be made to accommodate an 836 (65mm), 970 (70mm) and 1000 (71mm). I expect the first one by the end of September with the others to follow very quickly. ;)

I spoke with him this past Sunday and he said the CAD is done. I'll be making 6 blocks for the initial run. I expect that I'll have several done in a couple of weeks.

Thanks Sam. These pics are just a beginning....the fins will be tapered with many, many other finishing touches coming. I just wanted to get some pics out there to show it is real and happening. ;)
