Topic: 72 suzuki t250

Was just offered a running 72 suzuki t250 in good shape for 75 bucks. It needs work, as all the lighting has been ditched. The owner was going to turn it into a trail bike / woods beater. Only problem is that i know NOTHING about this bike. Anyone ever had one, or have any info on them? It looks like it would make a killer road racer for my buddy whos only 5'6" and 140lbs.

Hmmm....  never heard of a T250.  I've heard of a T500, a 2-stroke street bike twin, a GT250, also a street bike 2-stroke twin (which might have been known as a T250 Hustler in earlier years...)  and a TS250, a 2-stroke single dual-sport.

Which one ya looking at?

'72 Suzuki T250... 247cc 2-stroke twin.  54mm bore and stroke. 32hp @ 8000 rpm. kick start only. 12 volt electrics. 6-speed trans. probably drum brakes both ends.


if it goes almost like the '72 T350 that I had way back when.......

you might have trouble catching your buddy.

This is what one looks like in showroom shape. Pretty sharp. If he wasnt a good friend i'd buy it out from under him...... In cafe racer trim its nearly 100lbs less than my in progress cb500k. A real screamer with some work.

I owned a mint T350 Rebel in my youth, 105mph any day you wanted to, they have a unique sound due to the long chrome pipes, T500 Titan has even better sound, I owned 2 of those. 
T250 Hustler was good for the ton, even the older models.
Here is an advert for one forsale here in NZ, I'm having way too much fun with my 650 but if I had time I'd give it a serious look.
