Cam timing specs for Web 41a
« on: May 01, 2009, 03:19:39 PM »
Web no longer supplies cam timing figures or lash #'s. I timed one last night and figured the #'s may come in handy for somebody on the board. All figures taken at 0 lash and at .040" lift.
Intake    Open 20.5 btc   Close 43.5 abc  LC 101.5
Exhaust  Open 44.5 bbc   Close 20.5 atc  LC 102
I'd set lash at .004 to .005 intake and .004 to .005 exhaust

I saved mine...

Valve lash:  Intake .004 Exhaust .004
Lift:                     .360            .360
Duration:               280             280
Duration@.050        260             260
Lobe Center           103             103

Intake opens 27 Befor TDC Exhaust Opens 53 Before BDC
Intake closes 53 After BDC Exhaust Closes 27 After TDC

Valve timing is checked with zero valve lash @.050 inches of valve lift

Thats what the card says

That's a 41a kg? All Web cams are split. If you could change the lobe seperation you could get some different #s on the intake and exhaust.

It's no wonder they don't supply the fiqures anymore, I expect there has been alot of feedback about how they came to their numbers!  ;D :P

Bottom line though the product seems to deliver ok.

Exactly why they don't include a timing card Brent. Total BS in my mind.

I bloody well agree, and I won't get started..... but it would be soooo easy just to give correct fiqures.

Done!

Just set the cam timing for my 836 Wiseco with 41a ground camshaft. I set it 5 degrees BTDC (which is stock timing, right?) and measured off the valve to JIS standards or just shy of 40 thous.

That sounds right to everyone?
