I reckon any good local bearings suppliers will be able to supply you with everything if you have the dimensions to hand
and a search will probably bring them up if you havent. I just had my wheels rebuilt and asked them to change the bearings and seals while they were there and they had them in stock, so I guess they are a fairly common size.

I just popped mine out and took them to the local bearing supplier in town.  He had them in stock.  Be sure to get the sealed ones.  Back in the days my KO & K1 were built they did not use sealed or did not make the sealed.  An improvement for sure.

I've been having some trouble finding a good set of bearings. The closest dealers dont deal with 6000 series bearings, (auto parts stores). I read the all ballz stuff is low grade. Certainly convenient in the packaged kits.

Do you guys have a particular online shop where you can get some good Bower or other higher end bearings? The seals arn't necessary from what i understand since modern bearings are sealed i was just ganna replace the actual bearings. am i wrong with that?

I got my last set of bearings at Fastenal.  I bet there is one near you.  When I change wheel bearings, I also change out the o-rings, dust seals and even the retainer ring.  Those parts you need to get from Honda.

Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

They have complete bearing kits.
Do you have a copy of the Honda Shop Manual or Parts List for your bike? Get one here:

Thanks guys, Z1 seems to be a popular choice. Last I checked they were out of stock on one of the rear bearings.
I'll def lookinto the fastenal's.

I'll also look into the honda o-rings and such  :)

Headed to fastenal in a bit to see what they got, I am also emailing back and forth with a service representative from Timken. He seems to insist on the exact bearing dimensions. 6302 etc is just not cutting it for him, after explaining what the situation is and as much info as possible.  What should I tell him? I thought the bearing type was 6302? I don't have my old ones out of my bike yet to start with a tape measure....

Hmmm funny!? If he works for fastenal and/or Timken he should be able to EASILY figure out the bearings size and cross reference!?

So the exacts sizes for a 6302 bearing is:

ID = 15mm
OD = 42mm
Width = 13mm

Then for your wheel bearings I would add:  2RS...... "6302-2RS"  (gives you a sealed bearing)

(In Timken part numbers a 6302-2RS would be a 302K-PP....double check...but I'm pretty sure)

Thanks hednut, esp for the measurements. I shot him an email once I got back from Fastenall. adding the '2rs' ending which i didn't in previous emails, and he supplied me with all the information i needed.

"The numbers the you gave me cross to the following Timken aftermarket part numbers. The 63022rs/302CC, 63042rs/304DD and 63052rs/305DD. These numbers should be available at your local Timken bearing dist. If not try Motion Industries @ (800)526-9328, they are one of our largest bearing and seal dist."

Success!

Say, guys, I've read you're much better off to replace ball bearings with roller bearings. Makes sense to me but is this true or not?

Thanks
