Color me straight...
« on: May 16, 2009, 07:54:01 AM »
So I am at the stage where all the colors for my bike are going to be coming together. I have been doing the frame in a flat black, 0% gloss. The tank and side covers are going to be green. I'm also going to get the tank pin stripped because that is super rad. Dunno if any of you have seen a pic of my bike before, I will drag it out, but yes green. I am trying to think of another color that will go good with the two, I have no interior design capabilities and no forethought when it comes to mixing colors. I just another color so I can kind of make it all stand out just a little more because I think that just green and black might be a little boring...

here it is last summer, before it became 9038384924 pieces.

Any suggestions?

LOOOOVE that color green.  Love it.  I don't think it needs anything else.

But, if you want to pinstripe it, maybe think about a warm cream color (split the difference between the color of the stripes on your jacket and the color of your cap.)

I think it's fine, but maybe to add something to the tank, I'd add a flat black pinstripe the same curve as the 650 stripe, just because I really like that line...

I dig the color as well.  Not too Kawasaki-ish.  But dude.  You need a front fender or any puddle will end up on the motor and tank.

Thanks man, I spent a few hours paging through the color book of metallic colors, came up with that green and I loooved it. I don't wear just a hat though, I am a helmet man. It's also black. I was only wearing those shoes and hat because the ex girlfriend was like "Ohh let's take pictures of you on it". Blah blah blah. Annnny way.

I think you are both right about the cream and black color, I think a cream and flat black on the tank would look good together.

The green looks better up close it's got metallic fleks in it. I do have a fender, but I didn't have it on at the time. I learned my lesson :D

i think deep (plum) purple and a light, light green. the green would look virtually white next to your acid green but not be too stark in contrast. deep purple next to that green is just cool.

cream/black not shabby either.

Hot rod. I am not big on accenting, unless I was just doing a stock restore, then yes.

drawing on chicks wearing spankies and bustiers must be fun... even if its not the permanent kind of ink.   :)
anyway... horn dogs aside...

the honda answer would have been gold accent... i'm with them 100% on that one.
