The Wings are sticking it to my Penguins pretty good right now. Yeah, the outcome of these first two games my not have been in doubt, BUT, Zetterburg covered the puck in the crease not once but twice. Once in each game. Only the goalie can cover the puck in the crease. Both infractions result in a penalty shot. I am not saying that we would have scored, but the game could have been different. Hopefully we will win our two home games and send it back to Detroit for game 5 tied.

I guess since Ecosse started it, he needs to start a Red Wings poll.

re: hockey, i have fond memories as an 19 yr old smuggling in jd to our high school hockey games. me and my hick buddies would swill beam and cokes, chug smelly stogies and harass the opposing team. i especially targeted the goalie by describing relations i had with his mom. one time i challenged the entire crowd supporting the other side to a fight in the parking lot after the game. nobody showed. i also assumed cheerleader duties by berating my fellow townies into giving spirited vocal support.

the locker rooms had walls but no ceilings, and when ya stood on the bleachers one could throw fire crackers into the other teams locker room. boy was that loud. our team won a lot of home games.

ahh, back when i had stones... and no social conscience.

The Red Wings better do better than game six. They couldn't penetrate Pitt's defenses very well and had to take way too many 40' shots and I wasn't impressed with their passing most of the game.

Yeah it is going to be a good one! I gotta think though that Detroit's vets will win out just because they will likely play smarter and have been there. Although I hate to say it Bob, I really would like to see the Pens win this one. With their youth and skill they could be quite the dynasty (or as close to a dynasty as you will get in the modern NHL). I would like to see them knock Detroit off at their peak and to be honest I don't see Detroit coming back next year as the same team...

The Wings looked just off last night. Kronwell and Stewart gotta do a better job clearing the zone. They just keep handing the puck over on a platter. We seemed to have been taken out of the game physically too. Where'd the forecheck go?

Cant wait for tomorrow night!

Facts..
-Detroit is 11-1 in their building during the playoffs this season.
-The home team has won 12 of the last 14 do-or-die games in the Stanley Cup finals.

But bad bounces and lucky breaks can affect a game. 8)

The Red Wings didn't play that badly later in the game. The Pens still seem to have trouble moving guys from in front of the net. Too many times Franzen, Kronwall and others are planting their Buts in front of the net and The Pens' defense does not move them. Fleury also made the save on Cleary or the game goes to OT. Bad giveaway by Orpik.

I do think the pressure is squarely on the Wings and hopefully that affects their play. But they have too many vets and that likely will not happen. Osgood is great at home. I am glad that Hossa is choking so far in the series.

One thing in my Pens favor. Game 7 at Washington was setup to be a great one and the Pens went in and beat them pretty good. Hopefully a repeat. I think this game goes into OT with the PENS winning in an upset.
