Battery issue?
« on: November 09, 2005, 11:32:10 AM »
I just got a new battery a week ago, and the when starting the bike, it seemed like it wasn't charged all the way. I took it to autozone, they gave it a test and told me it was bad... Goo. This happened to the last battery I had, except it was a year old. So what's going on here? When I got the new battery I filled it properly, and charged it on properly as well. So i'm stumped as to what is killing my battery.

I bought a new battery from autozone too, and had nothing but problems with it. Took it back and got a store credit for it, and spent the extra money for a Sears maintenance-free kind. I highly recommend it. It works like a charm, and the filling procedure is so much easier (the electrolyte comes in a plastic container separated into six compartments, so all you gotta do is mount it on the battery, and push on it to puncture the seals... No mess, and no need to try to check the level...)

I don't have the battery number handy (the one that I would use to tell sears which battery I need), does anyone know it off hand for a 1980 cb650?

After the stock battery goes, I thought everbody used Yuasa. They cost more than junk up front, but...
