crosshatch angle?
« on: June 16, 2009, 04:06:58 AM »
i'm honing the cylinders for new rings on the k4 750 today and i'mn wondering what anglei should have it at? i cant remember what they told me at AMI. of course this being a street bike longeivity is a good thing but iAM going to an 836 or 850 this winter maybe. whats the difference in wear length between using a 45 degree or 60 degree crosshatch if it's properly broken in?
Of all God's creatures there is only one that cannot be made the slave of the lash. That one is the cat. If man could be crossed with the cat it would improve man, but it would deteriorate the cat.

With 45 being optimal, less angle is better than more for longevity.

What type of rings are you using?  I always had good results with plain cast for a re-ring job, but I'm new to these Hondas so I don't know any ins-outs specific to them or what's available.
