nice....i have a yzfr1 with full akrapovic exhaust, graves velocity stacks, BMC filter and PC3, but those cbr's are really nice on the track.  the maps from dynojet are pretty accurate, but if you have a dyno shop near or available to you then have them tune it that would be the best settings for your individual bike.
I actually did the complete opposite of you, i learned on sports bikes and moved into classics.  I love sports for the raw power and knife like edge in corners, but having only rode sport bikes, never really thought about comfort.  after the cb750....comfort has a new sense of importance to me now.  it's good to start on sports in the 600 class, professional riders always say that with the new liters, riders can only unlock 40% of their potential at most.  I've had friends who've rode 600s their whole lives and when they get on a liter come to realization that they never want to buy one.  I'm pretty reserved on my r1 now, so I don't really feel the need to go 100 in less than 6 seconds...although sometimes....

While it would be fun to get to 100 in that time, it's a feeling of accomplishment when you hit 100 on a 30 something year old bike.  ;D
That's what I'd like to hear.

Question Terry, did you install an already existing map for those mods, or did the dyno guys create a custom one for you?

G'Day Mate, when you buy the PC III, you download the map that you want to use from a range of maps supplied by the manufacturer, then plug the PC III box into your computer via the USB port and upload it into the unit itself. There's also a thing called a "Tuneboy" that's very popular with the Rocket guys, where you can create your own map. I might buy one of these next, because they'll also bypass the stock ECU's built in rev limiter and (on the Rocket III) the speed limiter, which limits the top speed to a measly 140 MPH! ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Crazy is a very misunderstood term, it's a fine line that some of us can lean over and still keep our balance" (thanks RB550Four)

Sweet bike!

Im glad you stuck with a Honda!!

yay..

I like the Honda Interceptors too..

Be safe.

Take a driving course.
Cafe Racing is mainly a matter of taste. It is an atavistic mentality, a peculiar mix of low style, high speed, pure dumbness, and overweening commitment to the Cafe Life and all its dangerous pleasures. I am a Cafe Racer myself, on some days - and it is one of my finest addictions. ~H. S. Thompson~

Thanks guys.   :)

I wasn't overly picky, but I ended up with a pretty good deal on a pretty good bike.

I was lucky in that the seller was a good guy. He responded to me right away, made the deal on faith that I'd follow through with my part, had the money to pay it off himself so I wouldn't have to hand over any money up front, and he followed through just as he said he would. Plus, he was an older guy like myself and never got on the bike like you might expect some of the yahoos in this forum might. ;) He even gave me his proof of insurance and license plate for when I rode it home and for the weekend (just got insurance and plate today). He even filled it with gas.

I think (and I think the seller would agree) that I was a good buyer. I phoned about the ad, went to look at it, already had my mind made up that I'd get it if it looked good, saw it was good, agreed to buy it, was patient while the seller paid it off and got a clear title (took almost 2 weeks), and paid the asking price in cash. The seller also said he was glad I wasn't some irresponsible kid so he wouldn't have to worry about someone getting killed on it.

I paid $5,500 for it, by the way, and there's about 3,300 miles on the clock. It's in mint condition. 2008, no mods other than flush turn signals (and the puffy-looking rear seat).

All in all, I think both he and I were pretty fortunate in this deal.

And the orange just happens to match my Icon vintage flattrack jacket and Nolan flashback helmet.   ;D

The first night, when I took it home (Friday night), I had to ride it about 40 minutes on the highway.  Then I took it out for the better part of yesterday.  I haven't quite found my preferred riding position on it, so my lower back is a little sore.  My wrists and arms are fine.  My neck is a little sore too.  But I sleep on a couch (which is stupid (and I have two beds)), and some of that pain is from the couch (you'd think that living with a constant neck pain would make be switch to a bed...  :-\).

I sleep on the couch all the time, too.

I had probs with sore arms and was unsure of the riding position at 1st as well on my CBR, but now it feels completely natural. you will get used to gripping with your knees. on my CB I hold myself up w/ my feet and my knees are loose, a little different but you will get used to it. a cramp buster for the throttle is really nice for long trips as well.
