distilling is, in general, a dangerous and highly flammable process.
I wouldn't recommend it for drinking, either.

BUT if you're making your own degreaser or ethanol fuel,
here you go:

Never made it, wish I could. Have tasted it at the lake down south years ago, yum.
I have heard of blueberry. Wish I lived down south sometimes...

I bought some moonshine and was really unimpressed. Sure it was strong, but the sickly sweet taste of it was pretty awful.

My ex-wifes grandfather, who lived in the Carpathian Mountains, used to make the Hungarian version of moonshine, a very strong Palinka, made from plums. Wasn't sweet, tasted good, and was very strong.

Don't know either, afraid I wouldn't brun off enough methanol and I wouldn't be seeing too well afterwards. I had a friend at University from Arkansas that had some awesome shine. Like they say, it was also an awesome degreaser.

Thought of making mead, I think it is a lot easier and less dangerous.

If you do a seach in the Forums, you will see member devised a very clever stovetop still. The recipes for the mash is similiar to making bread.

What you ferment is the key. Then you need a tub, sturdy enough to heat (stove, or the old fashion way with fire), and some copper line to catch the vapours and condense them.

Put a bottle at the end of the pipe to catch the juice and your away.

There should be many examples online....the one I used was pretty simple, hacked together parts my friends and I rounded up.

+1 on the mead, it's way, far superior, but more like a strong wine.

That said, I love, love, love mead.

while I was working in northern Alabama.

i live 15 miles from moonshine country, probably 100 stills in 1 sq mile. the question is finiding the good (safe) stuff. i have a friend that makes if from the scuppernogs and muscadines i harvest every year.  after going through a still twice and being filtered, it's around 190 proof or 95% pure alcohol. dont do it yourself, youre asking for more hassle and mess and trouble if you get caught. i wont go ANYWHERE near this guys property as i dont want my firearms permits jeapordized let alone my right to own firearms. youre better off messing with illegal drugs as far as the law goes, theres always a chance of a midemeanor arrest with drugs, but untaxed liquor is automatic federal time. dont mess with the governments tax revenues

I understand there is a way of doing it by taking 2 cups one inverted in the fluid the other with it's butt to the inverted one it's to catch the drips from an inverted pot lid filled with ice. Is that enough information?

ps if this contravenes any laws, too bad not my worry.

Look to http://www.homedistiller.org/

I have built two stills. One pot still and one reflux still both using a 15gallon beer keg for a boil pot.
Its easy as hell.
just do your research, read about how much of your "heads and tails" to discard and you will be fine.
Fementing is easy too. Lots of brown sugar molasses and water, heat to melt the sugars let cool and add ditillers yeast. wait.

I made Spiced Rum, Potin and Absinthe and they were all very tasty.

PM me if you have and questions. I have been homebrewing beer and distilling for 7 years.
I may be selling my stills too so let me know.

that was early on, Thomas Jefferson repealed the tax as an affront to the genius and freedom of men.
Lincoln reinstated it in 1862 to pay for his invasion.

Hey Porscheguy, what metal is your beer keg made of?
I'm really curious about making some brandy myself.
