keihin carbs
« on: November 16, 2005, 04:30:00 AM »
Just removed and disassembled my carbs.  Is there a trick in getting the float pivot pin out.  All other carbs I have worked on were a light press or slip fit.  I also have broken these cast tabs off by applying to much pressure.  Thought I'd ask if anyone has any suggestions.

Thanks,
Greg.

They are a press fit but can gunk up with old fuel, carb cleaner spray may help ease them.
In the UK anything over 40 years old only needs insurance and Fuel.

I just keep spraying them with carb cleaner or WD. Use correct pin punch or similar tool and tap lightly so as not to break the casting. Sooner or later you will get it. Have patience.
