Now, that's too bad about him. :( One of my favorite songs was by them. I think it was titled "A World Without Love" (Not sure about the actual title)

        It goes:
"I don't care what They say, I won't stay in a world without love"

That is REALLY too bad. :(

Yeah Bill, you've got it right, it was "A World Without Love" which was written by Paul McCartney. Paul was dating Peter Asher's sister Jane.

Funny how that works. They also did one that I can not think of the name of it either. Goes like: "The birds in the sky will be sad and lonely, if they know that I've lost my one and only. They'll be sad, if you're bad to me."  I know more of it, but you should know the one I'm talking about.  ;)

That song was "Bad To Me" by Billy J. Kramer & The Dakotas, funny coincidence though, it was written by none other than John Lennon.

I was thinking that Peter and Gordon did it, but Billy J. Kramer was good as well. My personal likes as far as Rock & Roll goes, ranges from the early 50's to the mid 60's. So, after that, my knowledge is a bit sketchy. ::) Now I don't know details like you've pointed out, as far as who wrote what and all. But, there is a radio station in the area (104.7 FM) that plays MY kind of music and every weekday morning about 7:30 - 7:45 AM, they do a "Name That Tune" and they give away certificates for hamburgers and such from Hardy's and Subs from Quizno's and now they are giving away certificates for Pizza Subs from a local place called Steffy's. You can only participate if you haven't won in the last month. Every month, for the last 11 months, I have won a certificate for something to eat. :D You are given about the 1st 3 notes of a song (and they will tell you the year 1st). Now, if the song was recorded after 1970, I'm not quite as good but I can still pick out a good number of them. Sometimes, when I give the answer, I am not sure about the exact title and will say (not sing ::) ) the 1st line of the song and lots of times, the name is in the 1st line (not always though). I ALWAYS enjoy the oldies (maybe that's because I AM AN OLDIE! ::) Did I say that? ??? :P ;)
