shorter throttle cables

I ahve done the search fro shorter cables and came up empty handed. Does anyone know where I can get the push and jjpull throttle cables for a 1978 CB750K8 made 2 inches shorter?

My Pull cable broke last night and the push cable is on its last 3 or 4 strands...I will buy the stock ones if I have to but I would like shorter ones...

Some old-school bike shops will custom-make cables to any length. You bring in the old ones for the hardware, and they do the rest.

Don, I don't know if you have a breakers yard on you island, but you could try a set from the VFR400R (NC30).

Just a Thought.

there are no boneyard within an hour from me that are worth looking into.

I am going to see if the locall cycle guy in Brownsville can make me a set. He has a few 750 SOHC's I am going to see if I can score any or all....

Don, I cant remember what we used on the CR as Chris got them himself.

Ours with clip ons should'nt be miles out from yours with clubmans.

Indeed. They should be very close in length...I would be interested in what length each one is.

I think mine were VTR SP2 cables on my bike, but that has CR carbs. Lots of modern Hondas use the twin cables so perhaps your local Honda Dealer might be able to help.

I would also be interested in shorter throttle cables for my cafe CB750K2 project. The stock cables are way too long and Id be curious to know what others use to remedy this problem. I think re-routing to take up the extra slack is not practical in my case - I have 3-4` if not more "spare". Of course photos of your setup always appreciated :-)

Dusterdude - do you have cafe bars on your CB750 with stock motion pro throttle cables? Is there not excess cable length? How do you route the cables to the carbs?

I just bought stock motion pro cables because they were like $17 a piece...throttle works better than ever...

sorry, someone else is going to have to try the cable company.

andy,stock bars and they fit perfect.i will say they dont have much wiggle room for longer or taller bars tho thats for sure.
