f2 engine case
« on: November 23, 2005, 07:43:05 AM »
Looking to get an f2 engine case. Just the case no head or anything like that. Are there any oil feed differences or any other kind of differences between the f2 case and a K case?

I would like to get a case to clean up and paint and then use it for an 836.

The F2 case is the same as the others. Any differences in oil passages is above the base in the cylinder and head. Let me know if you have difficulty finding one as I have a spare(California).
Give me..a frame to build a bike on, and my imagination will build upon that frame

The output shaft is different (much more stout) and uses a different bearing. The casting and bearing set ring groove is in a different place. That's about it.

So if I were to swap all the parts, would everthing fit besides the output shaft?

It certainly should. I have used 78 transmission parts inthe earlier bikes with no problems.

Well I got busy and forgot about bidding on the case. Oh well, they come up often enough. What i want to do is get parts for a second engine and use them to make my 836. That way, I always have a good engine if things go south doing the 836.
