CB650 resurection in progress. No tank so she's getting a 87 Kawasaki KZ1000P tank.
Shifts seat back by 3/4 inch.
Gonna sand and prime Wed and start getting the bike cleaned up.
Anyone know if CX500 front wheel fits. Spokes are pretty rusty on this one.
What about CX500 forks?

Have some cafe bars. Think she would look good with cafe style saddle-tail piece?
IMO the kwaker tank lookd better than stock but I'm biased, not having a stock tank.

Total $ so far 160. Still need to buy a battery and some paint.
Total time so far. 6 hours working on carbs and getting rings and clutch unstuck.

shocks are not nearly as bad as they look in the photo and have good action.
19k miles on bike
compression measured 120 all around but guage is not calibrated. At least it's even.

Hoping to have done in time for younger brothers xmas gift.

Got the short bars on yesterday. Need to find some shorter cables.

Thanks,
-Duck

that will be a cool gift! I hope he appretiates your time and work. I like Cafe bikes...I dont know how much time your little brother has in the saddle but if you put a one rider seat and remove the passenger pegs he will be less likely to carry someone else...untill he learns...you can always save the parts.

It will give you two something to work on in the future too.

Are you the same "Duck" that used to post on the Greenspun forum? I seen that name pop up the other night when I was cruisin' thru.

No, not the same Duck. I'm living Atlanta and Honolulu.
My other SOHC is a FT500. 4 valves but only one cylinder...
