18-48 or 17-48 Gearing?

I have a K2 with the 18-48 sprockets and an 18" rear tire.  Most of my riding is on flat roads going at least 70 mph.  My rpm at 70 is 4600.  I doubt I should change to a 17-48 setup since it would probably knock down my gas mileage at 70 mph plus and increase my engine rpm while cruising.  I use my bike primarily for cruising at 70 mph plus.  What gearing should I go with guys?

I just replied to your PM. I should also add that I cruised from Boston to Mid-Ohio last year on my K4 (18/48) at 80-85 mph all day for 700 miles. No problems and still had plenty left to overtake the Thruxtons, Harleys, BMWs we encountered on the way  ;D

but you could also drop 2 in back and go 18/46..... gas milage might go up, rpm's at speed will drop, and any loss of torque will be hardly noticed.  OR... you could save a lot of work and money and just leave well enough alone. ;D
