Ok, that's a LOT of work! I don't think I will take them down that far, but I at least want to take it apart far enough to get them cleaned and painted.

I thought about tearing them all the way down for about 15 seconds and decided my efforts would be better spent elsewhere. Even with new seals, they'll still be 30 year old shocks; I think technology has improved a bit since they were new.

Would you be able to measure the width of your hub? Mine's a little too wide haha. And for reference, Kawasaki ZX11C (1990-1992) 310mm rotors bolt straight on to Harley hubs

the problem I had with the ZX11 rotors was they weren't flat, they were bowled... making the hub appear too wide

They do indeed. I like that they're direct bolt-on as well. What's the width of the rotors on center?

The one measurement I never took was the width of the bare hub, but I bet Mr. Cafe will have that measurement soon enough.

what year and model was your wheel from StaggerLee?
I think the 2000-2007 was a 4.5'' width but I didn't write it down

Unknown; the auction only said "narrow glide wheel".

I guess it wouldn't be too hard to figure out the hub width working backwards from the overall width of the rotors. The rotors are roughly 5mm thick each (though they're a bit thinner than that at the hub face)...

Lessee...

Overall width at rotors is 137mm
Less 1.53mm for .030" spacers
Less 9.80mm (guesstimate) for rotors

Gives us ~126mm hub thickness; roughly 5".

sounds like mine. "Chrome Laced Wheel" I think it's the same as yours. almost 5 inch hub with a 1 inch bearing.

I'm thinking it's the 08-10 narrow glide

well Staggerlee, I can only assume that you and I have different wheels, cause mine didn't need shimming for the discs.
the hub on mine measured 4.95 inches from flange to flange.

so it looks like the 2008-Up wheel is the one to use. (for anyone trying to do this besides us)
