ROTLFLMAO. So much for expensive education. But, on a serious note, most of the kids going to those kind of schools have got got their heads stuck so far up their own asses they can't see the simplest con-trick.

It did remind me of one of Jay Leno's 'on the street' routines where he asked someone passing by, "How many stars on that flag waving up there"? (it was a U.S. flag). The person said. "I can't tell because it's waving so much."  ::)

That was a great find Ecosse. Simply amazing. It just goes to show what a great place this is, that people (young, higher educated) can be so out of touch and still get by, often very well.

I mean suffrage isn't really a current issue and its sort of an old world word.

But still, I wish they knew.   :(

I recently used a couple of expressions that left the boss's 16 year old privately educated son going "Huh?" Iron Curtain and Cold War. You could almost watch the glazed look form in his eyes. Sad. One day his generation will run the world. Who was it who said "he who ignores history is doomed to repeat it"?

Nice to see private education might not do any better than public education.  :P

This reminds me of a prank phone call I heard on a morning radio show when I was a kid.  The DJ called a woman and pretended to be her son's P.E. coach.  He told her that he had good reason to believe that her son was a Homo Sapien.  She freaked out and said that it wasn't possible!  But he assured her that her son was exhibiting all the classic signs of being a homo sapien. ;D ;D

I could never watch the Jay Leno "on the street" segments.  I always found them much more depressing than funny. :'(

Yeah, and ask them how many people died in the communist revolution in Russia.

"Stalin who?  Lenin?  Oh yeah, that Beatle guy."

I went through several Political Science and Philosophy classes in college, and NOT ONCE did a professor mention the violence, famine, squalor and disease that has accompanied the communist revolutions.

Sounds like you attended a lousy school Ed. You demand some money back?

I attended the best that taxpayer money can buy:  CUNY.

Although CUNY tuition is ridiculously low due to federal, state and city taxpayer-funded subsidies, I paid the full tuition myself.

Are you surprised at the bias exhibited by college professors?  I can understand that professors might be more biased at CUNY, but based on what I've been hearing from other recent college grads I work with, I don't think so.

Any classes I had in high school or college dealing with issues such as communism, fascism were dealt with pretty honestly. They told us of the gulags in Russia and the wonderful things that Mussolini and Hitler did a little further west.

I guess the education on the coasts is a little more biased than the midwest, I have only attended schools here (Missouri).

Now I'm really curious.  How many here have ever heard the word gulag before, and knew what a gulag was?

How many here learned in school that the 1917 communist revolution killed some 9 MILLION PEOPLE?

Also, how many learned that ANOTHER 20 MILLION PEOPLE were killed in the name of communism under Stalin in Soviet Russia?

I got all that too. I think a lot of it is still actually taught but the kids do not bother listening anymore. What punishment do they face? A little detention? Anything worse and their parents probably rush to their defense by going to the school board.
