Wow... I must be very lucky.

I use brake cleaner all the time on welding projects. Not anymore. I think I'll look at the warning on acetone and see what that does.

Thanks Bill... I'm going to stop that from now on.

Of all God's creatures there is only one that cannot be made the slave of the lash. That one is the cat. If man could be crossed with the cat it would improve man, but it would deteriorate the cat.

Yeah Bill I'm of the age where all of a sudden there is a warning and the things I was doing years ago are suddenly harmful as hell (gee guys I wish I knew that a while ago) and you say to yourself #$%* again.

Just as bad as mixing "Mr Clean" and bleach, makes chlorine gas.  Got to love chemical reactions and chemical/thermal reactions.

I think I'll look at the warning on acetone and see what that does.

I thought acetone was the defacto standard for cleaning parts before welding? Since im a complete tard to welding and just do DIY stuff will some educated\experianced welders step up and give the low down on prepping a part for welding?

Thanks!

It is... sorta. Depends on who and how old the welder is.

Besides brake cleaner is cheaper and serves two purposes. Not anymore  ;D
