Really don't like either one of those color schemes. and besides, those are 69.5 birds. I prefer the 69 440-6 with the airgrabber setup. But I'm prejudiced since that is what I had.
you mean 70, not 69. 69.5 was the first year and in 70 they went to the vacuum operated (and cooler than anything) air grabber. these first ones were built specifically for street racing and as much was said by plymouth reps. mopar was a real mans car; lift off 'glass hood and no fancy wheel covers- i mean who does that?! gto was a dentists car, chevelle was for the suburbanite who wanted a muscle car that passed for practical. the 'runner made no excuses. kinda like the viper vs. the 'vette. my bud owned a 70 and i learned to speed shift with that huge pistol grip. flipping the red air grabber switch under the dash at a cross walk would spook those pesky pedestrians too.
