Yeah , suprisingly though its a runner. Around here finding one with a motor for under a grand is like picking a scab off a fleas knee.
Prolly already gone though, but who knows , he didn't leave a number so we will play the waiting game.... If it cranks with a cheap paint job it'd easily go towards 2k on the resale and that'd be pretty sweet.

Artic glad to see you are on the forum here. How did the back brake issue sort itself? on dotheton.com there are some other naked wings cafed out . This bike is running exceptionally now . There are some small exhaust leaks to plumb up but no biggie. I got a jet kit on the way to rejet the carbs from stock 78, 112 to 90, 120. There is a guy on dothe ton named steve that has been running neck and neck with me on his CX build in australia . Do a CX search there and you'll see.
He suggested that jetting to me . I just sent him some vinyl stripes to do his bike today. Also my tachometer isnt working currently. Easy to be had though , might get one off Steve as he is running an Acewell unit and prolly has an extra one. Will post soem better vids pics , this weekend as weather permits. Also engine should be repainted gloss and thinking about somekinda screen cover for the radiator but not sure. We'll see~

Oh btw anyone ever seen how atrocious mid 90's nighthawks look. I found a build on do the ton of a 93 or so if I recall , that has me looking out for one of those now too!

Currently it's icing outside so work is kinda at a standstill. Waiting on the fork back up rings and dust seals since that'll make it really much cleaner looking up front pretty new rubber

The back brake line hasn't been sorted out yet, its in good condition no cracking in the part that is rubber, however, for the most part it's a solid line. So I'm tempted to leave it as is, although that is your call.

On the tach, check to see that the cable for it is properly seated and screwed in.

Cool , yeah It was . I am gonna take it off and test it with a drill. Steve has a fully functional one he'd send me for shipping.
Yeah , I am in the same boat as you in the fact that if we are gonna trade I don't wanna put anymore money into it same as you .
I am thinking about doing some market testing first though just outta curiousity though. I saw a yellow 78 Wing in Winston -Salem for 600$
hmmmm, that is a good deal . Either way I am happy just like to explore options you know. Really I'd keep this bike if it would accomidate two but that is really not the idea of a cafe bike most are solo rides. Have seen some though that looked nice and comfy enough for 2 , yours included. Would love to hear it too,BTW!

Just let me know, I mean if I was you and someone came up to me and said hey here's oh a big sum of money for the bike I'd probably take it instead of doing a trade.

Painted the engine and installed a seat pad ,also installed one of my custom 080 aluminum sidecovers which I think turned out great!
Couple of really small things to do like installing the new jets in the carbs , and a small tag light .Also need at least one mirror and don't know if I should go the bar end route (if that would even be functional) or putting a lower profile oem style one up there .Think I have seen some people that have bent older stock honda mirrors. Was thinking that a simple light kit would look rad shining through from the backside of the sidecovers but it might just be stupid overkill. Gotta clean up the tires as they are really dirty and was thinking about white lettering them . Any advice on how hard or easy this is including methods ? I think this bike has come a long way.

Yeah , they are do for some scrubbin and tire shine. Wanted to white letter the Dunlop Text too. Yours are cool IC , how did you do them . I heard to use acetone first to degrime and then mask and exacto them and to use like some paint called petra or something like that from a remote control type hobby store that sells model paint and what not . Ever heard of this ? What did you use? Interested how you did yours,please do share.

but I'll answer your question. I bought them with the raised white letters.

But my dad and I used to do our white letters with white paint pens from the hobby shop, lasted a long time and looked like the real thing. smelled horrible. can't remember what they were branded. I'll look around the toolbox.

markal white paint marker 7 bucks.
here's how I do it.
Scuff it up with a brass wire brush (or any fine wire brush) and wash it real clean with starting fluid and a rag so the tire is nice and dried out over the letters. (makes the paint soak in I guess)

makes for a good white letter that stays that way for about a year or so. you might have to redo them more often depending on... well I guess depending on if they start fading

There is also a pen just for this purpose, however I could not say where I got it from.. I believe Napa.. Its for touching up Raise White Lettering on tires for show cars..

Man that is some transformation. I do like the gloss black on the motor better then the flat.. I was thinking it maybe too much shining going on but its not really.. Looks very cool.

You should be VERY proud of your build!
