Southern Ontario,parts or repair shops.
« on: December 07, 2009, 08:15:53 PM »
Like most of the Canadian members I'm envious when reading posts from American members about services or parts they can access for their SOHC's. I'd like to start a thread of places in Canada where we can get repairs, parts, or engine work done without having to source outside, the country.
I'm in Shelburne, Ontario and I have 2 sources for my parts or repairs, for resto work is Proformance Motorcyles just outside Orangeville, also just outside Orangeville is Larry's small engines, a Honda Suzuki dealer where I can order Honda parts that are still available.
I'm hoping at least a couple of other Canadian members can add to the list...I know everyone with an SOHC 4 wants to keep them running and running for a long time.
Thanks,
Mike

One good source I found was Parts'N'More.... the have a nice selection of parts for our bikes and the best thing is that there's a warehouse in....southern Ontario somewhere (I think it's Burlington...but not positive??)  And you pay for your parts, add our magnificent taxes...and you'll get a quick delivery with no additional costs (shipping, border fee's etc...)
Other then them and the "not so local" honda dealer....I've been ordering over the border.
Cheers!

I've used PartsnMore as well, and was happy with their service AND the fact they can ship from Canada. My only peeve with them is the $50 minimum order...

I'm in Newcastle, east of Oshawa and Toronto, and west of Kingston

I've ordered OEM parts online from Lindsay Cycle(Honda Dealer)they mailed my parts to me,or I could have picked them up.

I have also ordered parts from Clarington Honda but so far have just picked them up..

For after market I use Clarington Cyle(Hampton)

Best repair shop that I have dealt with in Toronto is 109 Cycle (I have dealt with many!).

The owners both used to work at the old Ontario Honda on Queen Street East before it closed.

They are very knowledgeable about the SOHC 4's. One of the owners had a CB750 with a monster big bore kit in the 70's.

Fast service and great prices.

I have had pretty good luck with the local Honda dealers with both price and availability. They are not good at looking up part numbers since they have nothing in their system before 1979 so I have to look up the part numbers I need on-line and walk in with that info, then they can look up the price and delivery. While on line, I can get a comparison price (from Bikebandit, Mr Cycle or others) to compare to the local dealer. Usually they are better priced, not even allowing for exchange or delivery costs. Otherwise, I keep an eye on Ebay for stuff I can't get from the dealers.

I often purchase stuff from Sirius Consolidated in Waterloo.  Decent prices and great selection for old cb's.  www.siriusconinc.com  For repairs I've gone to Rosey Toes in Weston.

I'm new to the CB 750, but have had good luck with Honda, and have got a bunch of stuff from Ontario Cycle Salvage..Kingston Rd, here in Toronto, (well, Scarborough really). They close for some of the winter, but before they closed I picked up a nice stator cover, headlight case, top triple tree. I've got to know them, and they let me go back and look through the piles of parts.

Hey Prospect,
I've heard of Rosey Toes on other bike sites, I hear that Ted is a real character,I wish I was a little closer to downtown T.O.
Any mention of him on other sites is all positive...

Yes, Ted is a character.  I was there two week ago and it was freezing and waiting for the place to open.  Out of the corner of my eye I see a scooter and realized it was Ted riding in from the other side of the city.  He does know the bikes really well but often is extremely busy during the peak season.  I would recommend planning ahead and going in late March or April.  His pricing is unpredictable though so make sure you get a full quote before he does the work.

I haven't been to bent bikes since I was in high school.  Might check them out.  Does this guy have the parts cataloged or do you have to go and rummage through junk in the back like zdeno cycle in Kitchiner?
