The chain looks dangerous to me.  I would suggest larger sprockets at both ends.  I looks cool keep up the build, but address the chain.

i suck at ps and i can see missing shadow for the bar, different pixels, yadda yadda. why would someone spend the time. if they are that savvy they would be loading you up with a #$%*ing virus not "fooling" you with fake pics.

Overly wide bike tires are so 2008...

I got wider tires than that, but I am putting them on a push scooter... ;D

That is one of the more extreme customs I have seen. Looks like it would draw some attention. Where in NY are you folks. I am in Westchester.

my old lady is begging me for a bike (which is a challange cause she is pretty short) and has spent a few hours browsing through this and a few other forums looking for something thats appeals to her.
she'd never post a question, thats what she has me for... and if she did chances of her starting her own profile are slim to #$%*. but she wont so i handle it...
raul, sucks your wife doesnt give a damn... and im sure the vast majority dont. but there are a lucky few ;D
different strokes for different folks and all that crap...

How short is your wife?

I had to build a bike for a very short friend (she's around 5 feet tall), and the KZ440 was perfect height for her. I look like a monkey humping a football on the thing, but she looks great. Has plenty of power and handles well with some slight geometry changes.

My take on this thread:

The bike is real. There's no photoshopping going on.

631girl may or may not be real. I'm leaning towards 'no'.

He/she may have done the fabrication. Being able to weld does not necessarily mean you can actually wrench on a bike and make it run. Just because a person can make metal 'art' doesn't mean the art will be useful, usable, or operable.

I also think there is one person posting on multiple accounts in this thread. A mod would be able to tell us. IP's are kept and mods can view them. I don't really care.

CB350 is too tall for short legs. Uta can't put both feet down on one, the twin or the four. Taught her to ride on a four, though.

440's are cheap. Also a lot more power than a 350 or especially a 200. Does highway speeds without effort. This one, with everything cut off it, weighs about 320 lbs, too.

Hector, welcome back... we look forward to seeing your build progress.  One suggestion though, if you are interested in sticking around, you really should try to stop with the insults.

Good.  You stick around -- don't let the nay-sayers scare you off.  Just remember "different strokes for different folks".

I've seen plenty of "customized" bikes and cars that I didn't like, but I learned a few things from the fabricators for my own projects, and kept my mouth shut.

im still here and in the works on the bike.. i think spanner is just a drama king.. to be real .. the bike is real and that is that. for the people who are on the positive side thanks for everything and the people on the neg side im sure you wish u can build, ride, or something in that field.. i will be adding pics later.. dont worry i will photoshop the tiles on the floor again. and so far the arm is done the little sprocket is straight and the dual air cylenders are in place.. as of the propaine tanks, they are used or oil.. this is the first time i took a cb completely aprt.. sorry if i may sound like i dont know what im talking about.. the only thing i ever did to them is change a clutch on the 73 and rebuild carbs.. and im still a little lost onthe vac part of it.. but i can say i can hold my own for a 29 year old.. some poeople cant even change a plug.. i will post pics soon.. again spanner is the fag for sayn that the pics are fake..  i still will be riding a 750 with a 330 wheel and im sure it will break some necks going down the road..

Or at least stick to insults that only offend the target.

And post more pics of that bike as you do more work on it. :)

If your rear wheel is still spinning even though you have the clutch in, it could be the cable is out of adjustment and isnt pulling the plates completely apart.  It also could be that the bike has sat so long that the plates are stuck together.  They like to do that when they dont get used.  It's an easy fix, but since you can go through the gears I dont think that's your problem.

Also, there's always going to be a little bit of drag on the plates even when the clutch is in because its in fluid.  A little bit of spin isnt bad.

well the forks came from a friend, so i used.. the springs are cut inside though to get the low look..the bike is going to ride i had it runing in 4th gear at full speed on a stand with the suspension up and in the middle..the only thing is that the clutch when it was used the wheel kept going.. but im thinkin the clutch needs to loosen or be replaced, since the bike sat in someones basement for so many years..and if there is something that need attention then it gets it.. not like im building this with a book on my lap..trial and error is the key..the swing arm is unique and people that have came to actually see it, love it, and give much props on it.. some people have their opinion and thats cool.. some people think its a peice of art, well custom choppers have uniques to them.. it is what it is, you like or no.. i like and that is what matters..  i asked my wife to sign up for me but now forget it, she says some people are $#^%&. so she is out.. oh as of the arm its mounted like stock i used the originial arm and added the tubing.. im not planning on speeding with this.. its a lowrider in my book and if i could ride an inch off the floor i will, if i bust my as# then it be.. if  dont get up from it then what is there to do.. u can die goin 5mph or 185mph .

That was your best post yet, 631. Wheel may spin a bit while up in the air with the clutch pulled in. Before you get into it, try it with the wheel on the ground(make sure the front brake works, in case it does need repair ;D). I will tell you, its not what I would do with my CB, but if you like it go for it. Hope it goes well for you, and I share your sentiment on speed. THough my current top speed is ONLY 165mph...  :D

I LIKE IT!  Very interesting...cool build...sorry to hear your wife had enough on here...but after reading this thread I don't blame her.   I think if this was my intro to the forums...I'd have a stanky place for it too.

I hope you keep posting the progress, pics, and we see the bike come together...share some info...and watch you take it for a rip in a video that you post after she's all together.
COOL!  Props man!

Cheers

so are you going to get new cartridges for the front?
Maybe modify the ones you have to use air cylinders instead of springs?  that wouldn't be too hard at all, there's a lot of room inside the fork tube.

i would really seriously concider the "skateboard wheel chain tentioner" idea .. there is a reason sprockets aren't used as tentioners

not only is it dangerous because the chain could pop off or skip links, but if you did manage to make it somehow hold tight, it's gonna be murder on the chain (and all the sprockets)    ... meaning: plan on replacing them , often

Best thing is to go into excruciating detail about everything. We love that kind of stuff. I do anyways. If you made a jig for the swingarm before you welded it up - good to know. If you bent the pipe - what'd you use. Are you winging it or is there some math involved? If you cut the springs - how much? and on and on.

Basically, the folks who already know how to do this stuff will engage you at one level and the rest of us mortals would like some free class time. You never know what the next guy reading your build might find useful or take inspiration from - even if the thing is a bust.

Plus it's kind of the culture of the board - which seems to be where you ran aground and everyone pig piled you.

Good luck and more pics!

have you done the air in front or know someone that has done this mod
I don't personally know anyone that's done it, but I've seen it done before.
I'll see if I can find the link.
