Stator wiring question
« on: January 08, 2010, 01:14:33 PM »
I am replacing the stator on my K4 as the case is pretty scratched from the PO. I have a K4 parts bike with only 6,000 miles and using that one. Just want to be sure I have this right. There are 2 groups of wires. In the pic the group of 3 wires on the left are all yellow that of course connect to the group of yellow on the harness. Does it make any difference which yellows connect to each other on that harness?

Good question but I think as they are all just circuits coming from the stator it shouldn't matter, sorry smug though here Johnnie but on my 650 they made them one big block connector so I couldn't screw it up. ;D
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

no it doesn't make any difference, just make sure they are all nice and clean - and well connected - you don't get to look at these very often..

Old goldwing fix is to solder all the yellows together.

Not an expert, but I concur -- all the yellows are interchangeable.  Just make sure the connections are clean and tight and none of the wires rub on the frame (don't ask me how I know this).   :-X

My Nighthawk is put together with wire and zip ties, burns oil, and handles like a pig.  I love it!

There are wiring diagrams (pdf's) off the main page (www.sohc4.net) under the 750 model link, however the links seem to be broken.. Give it try tho cause it could be my browser...
