Two pictures taken of Honda RC750 Daytona bikes prior to racing at Speedway in 1970.

KOS.

NOTE: the black stripe around the number placement. These were removed to allow larger numbers at Bob Hansen's request, when they got to speedway... as to allow him to pick out the Mann bike in the pack of the 750's Honda had brought over. Never had a problem, seeing the bike as the British riders and mechanics did such a poor job in preparing the bikes...none went very far. Also note: left hand rear brake pedal.
220...221, whatever it takes.

Found this on photobucket. It appears the frame could be adapted to most any engine.

This is a 500 owned by Mike Gilbert. Used mainly in sprints, runs mid 13s around 95mph.

Sam. ;)
I wondered why it had a "C" before the 55.  :D

Found this pic that I took of a 400/4 race bike frame that was up at the Ally Pally Road/Race show many years ago. Not sure who JCM were, but it must have been about the time that there was a Formula 3 race bike class at the Isle of Man TT.

Here are some of my current fleet.

The orange bike is a CB400F.  Stock pistons, but a M Reick ported head and a hotter cam.  VF500F front forks.  Works shocks.

The purple bike is one of my "loaner race bikes".  CB350F.  Stock motor, CB400 Hawk front forks.  Twin piston Honda brake caliper and rotor.

The yellow and red bikes are CB550 Hondas.  Stock motors.  Upgraded forks (Goldwing stuff if I remember correctly).  The yellow one needs to have the matching rear comstar machined to fit the swingarm.

The blue bike is my CB750.  Ex-race bike from the early 70's.  I've never had the motor apart yet.  mid 80's GSXR forks and front and rear wheels.  Twin piston EX500 brake calipers on GSXR rotors.  We're limited to fixed rotors and twin piston calipers in my current class.  Rear swing arm is a late 80's ZX600 Kawasaki unit.  Carbs are over bored (31mm) period Keihins.

I've got another CB400F in the Loaner Fleet. And another CB350F.  Built and sold a CB650 a few years ago.  No pics of those right now.

I like the use of what look like CBR600 wheels on this bike.

Someone on the old Dorje mailing list was posting about his conversion to CBR600F wheels and forks. I lost contact with the group before seeing the end of that project.
I really like this bike....it is very sharp looking with nice shocks too. Wait a second...it's an early F which some people hate. ;) ;)  ::)

Ebay

It had a headlight hole in it that I glassed over.

You can buy them new (about $350) but I'm too tight for that.

The one on the blue 750 is an ebay special also.

Still waiting for the return of the rebored barrel that I was promised by Xmas (590cc, last one cracked a liner!) then I can get the Dresda 500/4 back up & running...
Trying to keep it as original as possible but sourcing replacements is a nightmare!

Just a little bit about my 500/4 racer. First photo is the 1st practice lap of the 1981 Manx Grand Prix 500cc Newcomers race. I bought the bike in 1978. I finished racing in 1986, the bike was then put in the garage for 19 years. We stripped and rebuilt it and started Classic racing in 2005, 2nd photo Cadwell ( complete with Orange jacket). 3rd photo is Phillip Island in January 2010.
Forgot to say that this is the same bike as i bought in 1978, with a few extra bits to make it look a bit like the Hailwood Rep, which is required to race with the CRMC in the UK.
