Dream Bike Thread
« on: January 18, 2010, 04:06:19 PM »
Ok, so there's the Inspiration Gallery, the Ugliest CB gallery, Race Bike Gallery, but there's nothing on here where people list their Dream Bikes.  I know that everyone's dream bikes are their old Hondas as they see them built in there head, but there's always another bike...

If money was NO option, what would be parked in your stallion?

I know I'd want a RC51, Triumph Speed Triple, BMW R1000SS for some of the newer ones...  Oh ya, how about a Y2K bike, just to be completely different  ;D

I had a good list of them going while I was bored at work, BUT i couldn't post anything on here...

Well I'm curious what people would want and if it's an odd ball, a picture!  I hope we can get some good interaction on here, as I'm sure I'm not the only one that's thought about this!

CBX and a Dream!  Oh, and a Wing, and an early Indian, and a....
Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

Seems like You and I are headed in the Same direction. 8)

Got the CBX, want an Old Indian (like a 53' Chief an/or a 1942 Indian Four), and a Vincent Black Shadow, and a CR77 ( I think that's the road race Super Hawk) and countless others. ;)

Maybe I don't dream expensive enough, but I want a 750 Commando and enough money to really fix it up right.

Also, Santa could bring me an 850 Guzzi Griso or a Duc GT1000.

Thanks Santa.

hey dreams don't have price tags!  everything's free in your dreams!!  but to counter your dream with something on the OTHER end of the spectrum, how about a supercharged Vincent that sold for $600,000!!!

so ya, dream small, dream big, but just DREAM!!!

There are two bikes I want besides my CB750.

First is the BMW R1200GS Adventure (you have to have the spoke wheels for added strength).

And second is a Triumph T100 Bonneville but I would install the Thruxton seat and seat cover.

The two of them would cover any riding situation I would like, and they both fit my extra long legs...  :D

(got this from the link that : Hinomaru : posted and there were others I could stand, but check the link out)

Now, as a matter of fact, I COULD go for an Ariel Square Four though. Pretty nice example here. 8)

Well I guess I'm lucky that I've been able to realise two of my dream bikes in the past and so now my list is simple and three slots long.....in order....
1. Britten V1000
2. Honda 297cc six
3. Temple Anzani

The temple is a mad old Brooklands bike - built for the 100mph lap record runs way back when Brooklands was THE circuit to run at in the UK. It's a mad mad bike for those speeds but is beautiful imho  ;D

I remember many years ago that an old friend of mine who was Honda mechanic telling me about the 297cc 6 cylinder bikes and was saying that he imagined the pistons would have been about the size of bottle tops.
It would be interesting to find out the specs for the sake of curiosity.
If I was you
I'd be worried about me.

Actually they'd be about 40mm wide? If I remember my 50cc two stroke piston diameters correctly.

I've seen the internals close up and laid out (or copies) the pistons are almost exactly the same cross section/diameter as one of our UK Pound coins if the display was correct...

My pleasure, the one from the Barber museum was just like the one my buddy had, that I got to ride now and then. I was in love with that bike and he would not ride it like it should have been. He'd put around on it and wonder why it wouldn't run very well. I'd take it out and blow the soot out of it and it would run just fine! :D I would LOVE to have had THAT ONE for my own! ;)
