Identify this cam.
« on: January 27, 2010, 04:13:48 PM »
Stamped R1, want to find out if anyone can verify if it is the early R1 for me? It looks pretty gnarly, steep downslope, and a long duration... I am thinking it is, just wanting someone smarter than me to verify!

No way to tell. R1 doesn't mean jack#$%*. The R1 I took out of my K8 engine also has the later cam chain sprocket like your's has. (holes in it to lighten it)
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

I know about the R1s being used as blanks for the later cams, but this doesn't look like a cam worried about the epa to me... I guess I will have to wait til I pull my cam out of the motor...
MRieck, I know you know...  ;)

looks like theres more duration than the stock cam i have on my 750, it's also marked r1 but way different lobes.

If you take the bolt and washer off ,it may be marked on the end . Some of the cams were marked there.

Nope... no markings under the washer... Thanks for the tip, though.
