CB550F CB550K what's the diff?
« on: February 17, 2010, 08:57:53 AM »
I am still currently trying to locate a title or a frame with a clear title for my '78 CB550K. I have seen CB550f's out there too. My question is, what's the difference between a CB550K, and a CB550F? Will the frames interchange with each other? I know someone here will know the answer to this. Thanks.

Here are the model guides:

I know the kick stand is different as well as stock exhaust.  Seats and tanks differ also.  Will a K engine fit in a F frame?  I think so.
Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

The motor will interchange. The frames, front fender, seat, tank, side panels, electric panel, exhaust, ignition switch are all different. This is true for the 1976 models at least.
