78 cb550k carb "O"rings and a BIG supplier site
« on: October 23, 2009, 12:27:10 PM »
Does any one know the "O"ring sizes for the 550  PD carbs, namingly the adjustable jet (Main ???) and drain screw.

I came up with 7mm OD by 1.3mm thick

and 5mm OD by 1.2 mm thick

I was thinking about just ordering the "O" rings( from the site below),as most kits(Keyster,K&L) come with the jets which are not really needed, and some people say are crap,

I ordered one set from Honda and it was $15.50,and tried taking measurements from them.

http://www.cyclewareables.com/pages/carburetor_o_ring_kits/carburetor_o_ring_passage_plug.htm

I found this site which has alot of stuff from jets to "O"rings to rotors etc

Well maybe I am getting the names of the jets /needles wrong.....the one that is outside of the float bowl with the "O" ring and small steel washer and spring(air screw/fuel mix screw),is the one that I was trying to get an accurate size for.

Went thru the same issue with my 750 here:
http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=71759.0
Ended up using rings for an Artic Cat 250 ATV I found at a local dealer.
The 1 mm rings are too thin.
Part #4505-011 (idle air screw o ring)
Don't know if the 550 carbs use the same or not.
