HID's draw less current while operating, but due to the initial spark voltage to ignite the plasma arc, they see higher amp draws right at start up for about 1-2 seconds until warm.  this is why most HID's in cars you see are really bright at first and then "warm up" a couple seconds later.

i needed new bar switches anyways, so the one i bought from DCC has a off-running-headlight switch so i can start and kill the bike with the headlights off if i want!

I know HID's have been discussed on here, but i found a good HID kit for a really good price through some VTX forums.  it's from DDM and they offer a 35W and a 55W HID kit.  does anyone have any experience with them??  i have an aftermarket housing ready to accept an H4 bulb, and i've heard really good things about these bulbs over on that forum by people that have installed them.  they offer a good lifetime warranty and stand by their product.  i'm considering purchasing one of these and relaying it in to get a nice safe headlight!  the ballasts are really skinny and the wiring is minimal!

i don't care what people have to say about the glare, I'm planning on using a single filament bulb with no hi-beam, just a low beam because its so damn bright anyways!
Did you ever get the kit? How is it? I'm thinking of getting one as soon as I get my Li-iON Battery.

Hey guy's hopefully you all are still liking your DDM HID systems, I recently bought a kit for my 76' CB550K build.

DDM Motorcycle HID Kit, 35W, H4 High / Low, 4500K
Wattage: 35W
Bulb Color: 4500K
Bulb Type: H4 Hi/Lo

I also have a Hondaman Ignition Box, Fuse Box, Headlight Switch Relay, and Starter Switch Relay still to install.

I'm using a old Stanley H4 Headlight Housing with the new HID bulb and it fits well.

What's the best way to go about installing the rest of this HID kit?

I'm pretty new to electrical work on this bike so any more pictures or steps would be a big help.

My youngest got one for his 98 cbr600 earlier this summer but he had it all figured out and up and working by the time I got home. No issues with it so far but it's kind of early to say.
