CR Carbs and dual fuel lines.
« on: April 02, 2010, 05:36:24 PM »
Hi,

I am wondering what the best way is to feed CR's. My petcock has two male ends (which are 3/16ID) while the CR's have 3 fuel inlets (which are 1/4ID)..so there is also a fuel line size difference.

Should I just run two lines to the CR's...one from each valve of the petcock, and then block off the middle inlet on the carbs?

Also, can I get some type of coupler which will step the line up from 3/16 to 1/4? Do they make fuel filters which do this?

What is the best practice for this setup to make sure the carbs get fed properly? Suggestions would be greatly appreciated!  :-\

Thanks!

I got just one line to mine it works but I dont know
what type of fuel line do you use
I have a CB750 it only has one line to the tank
but I want them clear fuelines and a clear inline fuel filter

now what I got is the other inlets blocked and the line that is on there now is fit good to the carb but not so good to the petcock ( little big ) so I put a little hose clamp on there real tight just so I can run round the block "test rides" right..  but this #$%* is ghetto so I think the thing I will be doin is use one size line (smaller)from petcock to fuel filter then the other size(bigger) to the carb from the fuel filter

i wanna know if thats what other people do or what
and where to get em

I run my CR's like motocyconomad outlines. I have a fuel filter that steps 3/16-1/4 so I have correct size line at both petcock and carbs. I've also run a single 1/4" line and used a small hose clamp at the petcock. Both ways work fine, but with the stepped filter option I do not need to use a tool to loosen a hose clamp in order to disconnect the line from the petcock.
Give me..a frame to build a bike on, and my imagination will build upon that frame

This is helpful because I just received my 29mm CR carbs. The center fuel intake is open, the two outer ones are capped off. I have a stock two outlet petcock but was thinking about going to a Pingel single out tap.
This project started in confusion and will end in disarray.
