A little known fact is....DOHC 750/9001100 pipes work on SOHC 750 fours. There is some interference with oil pan on the wet sump DOHC, but as far as hooking up to head ex ports...exact same fitment. better to but painted versions of DOHC pipes, as to allow for some cutting/welding to make fitment perfect.

Hey Kos
What do you think of using this V&H SideWinder/ Pro Pipe on a street/ strip 750 K8? I am already very familiar with ground clearance issues as I have been running very low struts with fork tubes dropped 2". This pipe just does something for me, I like it, I drag race often and see that most successful racers are using this pipe or a version there of. I am going to try it, soon as I can afford one and they are very reasonable. Also I agree about painting it VHT black, That I will do. I just want this Mac to go away !

Found this bike in completely stock condition in Feb. 08. Paid over twice what my new one cost 30 years ago. Am trying to re-create the look of the late 70's Drag Bike styling.More later. 4-2-10 It ain't stock any more and I have no idea what I am trying to create !

Drag race sidewinders are cool....I would do it in a minute, but you must never plan on turning right!

I knew a guy from Kelowna, BC who's bike was low enough that he used his sidewinder pipe as a kick stand. Made it easy to park in the staging lanes...  ;D

There was a street SOHC 4 in 68 that had Webers AND 4-2's with equal length pipes...

I have never had a Sidewinder pipe... Yet !!

 Did find one for 1080's Suzuki , though...

 Come on you over 40 crowd, someone has to know what sohc 4 was out in 67 and 68 with webers and equal length 4-2 pipes... ::)... I mean, it a VERY VERY short list of inline 4s in those years.... ;D

Here is the SideWinder on my K8. It actually went on very easily, need to fab up a better can to header clamp, didn't come with one, I have an aluminum bracket attached to the foot peg bolt. ken at Cycle X sent me (free) a larger clamp to go to the rear peg but haven't used it yet, may not at all. Over all I am very satisfied with this pipe, it sounds incredible, LOUD , no baffle comes with it either. I definitely will make a baffle, this thing sets off car alarms just idling along. And it is low, right turns must be planned in advance, will be losing the short shocks very soon and going to at least a 13.5. Exactly $100. less than the Mac and IMHO a much better looking pipe, much better sounding for sure ! Also the stumble, blubbering off idle is gone with the open pipe,I am well pleased! Take a look !

Ok , don't tease me , let's see some more pics of that bike ! Is that it in your avatar ? Looks good ! I had to put a baffle in mine, it was killing me ! An old Kerker fit perfect and it still sounds very nice

only had one issue on a right turn there was a bump or h hump in the road when i turned and just touched. but other than that has been great...i like it loud so people know im there.
