Anyone ever check their advancer marks?
« on: April 20, 2010, 10:11:53 AM »
Anyone ever check to see if the T mark is at TDC? I am thinking with normal tolerances, there may be a bit of variance..

Most of my bikes/vehicles don't run well enough to notice that minor of a difference!!! I'm just glad they (mostly) run  ;)

The one way I know of to check the mark would be to have the head off and install a dial indicator above #1 piston.
My old triumph cub has neither a TDC mark or a FIRE mark. They just say to set the points at some fraction of an inch by removing the spark plug and measuring before TDC. Kinda crude!! Hell....It usually won't run at that setting due to the LUCAS Energy Transfer Ignition (AC). You have to have the points timed with the pulse of the stator!

That Tiger Cub is crude and worthless, you should just go ahead and give it to me!  ;D ;D
It is a proven fact that modifying a SOHC Honda in any way will bring on the apocalypse.
