The orchards are a week or more from bloom so leaves are small but that is a lot of weight on trees.

Everyone is in foul humour, but the bright side is snow just at the freezing point is far better than bitter cold for sure.

Um, you live in Canada, eh... ;)
I remember a massive snow storm in mid April in Columbus Ohio back in 1987.  I was bummed because we got snowed out of our Senior spring dance.  And we aren't anywhere NEAR Canada!
It took 10 years but she's finally done!

Hey Bwaller:  Don't you have to legally wear snow tires until the end of the month in PQ?  (Now I know why.)

Ouch! Weather was fabulous here NW of Toronto today. I worked on the bike, my son's car and I planted potatoes. At least one part of Canada was perfect today...

Hi Bill - You still got snow there? <grin>

I planted white Kennebecs and red Chieftans. I thought about the blue ones, but they weren't available when I went looking. They are supposed to be pretty good, but I've never tried them, have you?

I've heard there's really good riding around Trois Rivieres, and it's beautiful along the St. Lawrence is that your experience as well? We're thinking of heading up that way later this summer when hopefully there will be no snow. ;D
Any info greatly appreciated and good luck with the trees!

Cookin not yet but we've got tomatoes in the ground peas "Green Arrow, gray etc some lettuce (which is having a hard time because the cold frame I built is acting like a solar cooker", this weekend all being equal more stuff goes into the ground, I'm waiting for the beans and carrots to go in, we've some Italian varieties that I'm dying to try we planted some from Bertons last year they were yellow and red and green and red, my god were they good, nothing like 5min from harvest to kitchen as opposed the 5 days or months. Do you garden much?

Hey Bill, we should start a gardening thread!

I was going to wait with the tomatoes since I don't have any way to protect them. There is no cold frame here, I am too busy swapping the engine on the CB750 and fixing body holes on my son's car.

So far I put have in lettuce, spinach, onions (three kinds), garlic (planted last fall) radishes and peas (and the potatoes of course).

A bit of rain would be nice, for the garden and to refill my rain barrels!

I love the area where you are. It's my favorite ride. One day I might move up to the Bruce...

If you are, don't wait to long we got 4.5 acres for 50 g 3 years ago and the prices are still going up. We don't have our onions in yet, as far as cold frame goes I went to look for windows at the "Restore" they were expensive but it occurred to me that shower doors were about the right size so I asked and they were 10$ a set so away I went, we've got radishes started in a box and we'll see how that works.

So, where do you get snow tires for a motorcycle?

Same place that this chap got his, I suppose.  I finally understand the purpose for this machine.
