Intake rubbers,78 CB750K
« on: April 28, 2010, 10:57:45 AM »
Just a quick question If I may: All the sites I have shopped for carb rubbers only have the #1 & #3 rubbers for sale. Did Honda make 4 different rubbers for each carb or can I use 2#1s  & 2#3s ?? and just turn em till they fit?  Thanks everyone!!

All 4 are different

i asked the same question not long ago, an have still not managed to find no 2 and 4, plenty of people have said they just went with 2x no 1 and 2x no 3 which while not correct works well enough.

My new ones (2x#1s and 2x#3s) arrived this morning so going to fit them this weekend, and i'll update after i try..

I have done the xylol and wintergreen recently (my hands smell of wintergreen :)).  That stuff works like magic.  My K7/K8 carb insulators are very soft now.  I'm also doing the air horns (rubber between airbox and carbs).

Don't throw away the old ones!

If the wintergreen doesn't work for you or they are too cracked to use, I sell reproduction insulators to fit. Here's a picture: http://classicmotorcyclesolution.com/index.php?supermode=gallery_view&previewm=1&a=boots&image=100502032820_7778cb750k-1_1_.jpg&screenres=1280-800

I went the 2 #1's and 2 #3's route on my K8 rebuild. They work perfectly. BUT, if 05c50 has a reproduction set of 4 for $30, I say check those out.
