Where to buy? Chromed Tappet Covers
« on: January 30, 2006, 03:52:35 PM »
Hi gang;
Had a friend stop in to the office today asking about buying chromed tappet covers? We found the vertical and the horizontal finned types, but he's wanting the original flat type. Any ideas? I've checked EBAY and several of the often referred to websites, but only find the non-chromed aluminium type. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, DrMark

Not quite the answer, but is it possible to chrome the existing ones?  I've seen a site with billet ones as well, I'll post the link when I get home.

Where are you seeing the finned ones?  that'd be the tits for a Cafe.

Those are the tappets I am running on my CR350. They are really nice and work great.

And every so often on eBay there are a lot of auctions for the stock pieces chromed. Valve covers and tappet covers being the most common. Chrome stator covers, shifter covers, chain covers and clutch covers also pop up from time to time.

www.eaglescall.com has got the billet covers, polished or anodised in a choice of colours. They have a 19mm hex head and are much stronger than the cast aluminium covers.

For more photo's also check out my site.

Hey Greg,
Yes I look and read more than I post, this is a great site and the only chance I get to keep in touch with these classic Honda's, mostly superbike riders here in sunny South Africa.
I gather the CB750 tappet covers will also fit the 350 twin? I could also manufacture a batch of those finned tappet covers if there was a call for them, would not be as cheap as the cast covers that are on Ebay though!
If you speak to Terry let him know I have been trying to get hold of him. Thanks.
