Well, at least now you know where you stand on it. The thing with sleep apnea is, and I'm not pointing a finger or accusing anyone of anything here, it is mostly in people who are overweight. Lose the weight. Get in shape. Balance your intake of vitamins and minerals better. Sleep apnea can affect your heart, blood pressure, all kinds of stuff. When you get chunky on the outside, it puts pressure on your breathing passages and your whole body. You work harder just to sit there, let alone do anything else. It causes you to snore more because your passages aren't open enough to allow enough air through.
In the meantime, keep your airway open by whatever means you need. Just to warn you, that cpap can be really bothersome to the other person in bed with you and takes a bit of getting used to. You are sleeping with a rather big, tight mask on your face, forcing air into your gullet all night. It makes a racket and is hard to adapt to for most people.
Big thing... lose the extra pounds. It will, in the end, make the most difference and you may get off that machine some day. You will also feel and look better and be able to do more-with less.
