BobbyR's Boston Tour
« on: May 16, 2010, 06:40:19 PM »
I have been summoned by the MBTA to help upgrade their maintenance facilities. I will be in Revere this week Monday, Tuesday and leaving Wednesday.

In June I will be back there in Somerville June 21 - 25th. This time I intend to take a Duck Boat tour and maybe a Bus tour. I am tired of seeing nothing but Rail Yards and Hotel Rooms.
Dedicated to Sgt. Howard Bruckner 1950 - 1969. KIA LONG KHANH.

But we were boys, and boys will be boys, and so they will. To us, everything was dangerous, but what of that? Had we not been made to live forever?

Bobby, I'm SURE that if YOU are doing it, it IS a worthwhile thing, but I'm needing some clarification as to what MBTA is and what the deal is about. I'm not too up on things, I guess. :-[

Oh the MBTA is the Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority also known as the "T". My Company built a bunch of 2 level cars for them. The people are skilled but they had no equipment to maintain the wheel trucks. We are building them a shop to maintain them, and I teach them how to do the maintenance. This week I will be with their Subway people that have a good shop, they have some new cars and we built the Trucks, so we will tear a couple down and put them back together.
I do the same for the NYC Subways and Metro North, the local Commuter Railroad.
I have been doing it for 5 years. Pays OK and I meet interesting people.

Now that sounds like a good time Sam.

Hey Bobby,

You caught me a bit off guard for this week, could we set up a little get together when you get the MBTA running right in June?

Thanks and hope you're feeling good!

Well, I finally made it home and it was an interesting trip. My work partner came down with food poisoning so I had to do the first day myself. Today he arose and we finished up. I ran into a fellow who works in the Hotel and laims his cousin owns a gentlemen club called the Golden Banana. He gave me a bunch of free admission cards. So if any of you want them I must have a dozen and I will gladly give you one when I return in June. For all I know there is no admission charge. I am from NY and we tend to expect a scam.

All and all it was a good trip and came back with a trunk load of Tax free goodies from New Hampshire.  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Hi Bobby, glad you enjoyed the trip up to Boston, did you get to meet up with any of the locals?
I googled Golden Banana and came up with this, I can't enter the site as I'm on the works computer and the IT department will jump on me for visiting sleazy sites.

GOLDEN BANANAWARNING! YOU ARE ABOUT TO ENTER AN ADULT ORIENTED WEBSITE. IF YOU ARE UNDER THE AGE OF 18, OR ARE AN ADULT WHO DOES NOT WISH TO VIEW EXPLICIT ADULT MATERIAL ...

How's it going after the treatment ? A mate of mine got the all clear yesterday and he had it real bad, we're getting together to selebrate at the weekend, I can feel my head aching allready. ;D
