Topic: engine sprocket noise , wobble

Finishing the 74 750 chop, had the engine running with no chain on and as I shift through the gears there is a rattle from the sprocket area. Shut it down and checked and the sprocket does wobble.  My 78 I just finished did the same (wobble) do not remember if it made noise. Common???  Held a wood wedge against the sprocket and it calmed down the noise.  Need input, Geno

Don't worry about it. There's normally some axial play in the drive sprocket.
