130/90/16 mounted diameter?
« on: February 12, 2006, 08:27:25 PM »
Hi, can anyone with a 130/90/16 tire mounted on a rim take a measurement of the diameter? I'd appriciate it. Thanks

If I were you I would look for the tire manufacturer's web page for the tire which interests you. Most of  the tire manufacturers put a lot of technical information on their sites. I just browsed through a few selections on the Bridgestone-Firestone site and found that the published diameters of the tires that I looked at ranged from 25.0" to 25.4" in that size. Pick the tire you need (or want) and check it out for yourself.

Thanks guys, The tire I have is a Cheng Shin Barracuda 130/90/16. I can't find anything from them that gives sizes. I looked. Oh well i'll just mount it and see how it looks compared to the 100/90/19 front (same model tire). Thanks

You can alway approximate it by arithmetic.
Sidewall = nom width X Aspect ratio
Sidewall X 2 + ID = OD
130*.9 = 117 /25.4 =4.606"
4.606 *2 = 9.212 + 16 = 25.2"

Thanks Dennis, but are you sure your equation is correct?

130 x .9 =117
117 x 2 = 234 + 16 = 250
what value is used to get from mm to inches? I'm missing something.

Divide mm by 25.4 to get inches, or multiply mm times .03937 to get inches.

(sorry, having a bad day over here and I was just trying to be funny  :( )

Like TWO said, divide by 25.4 to change from mm to inches.

Check it over carefully, it works. Divide your 234 by 25.4
