2-stroke moped top end rebuild - any advice?
« on: July 08, 2010, 10:36:04 AM »
Hey guys - been working on my girlfriend's Yamahopper (QT50). Took off the top end which was trashed & replaced it with the cylinder off another QT50. Had it bored & honed and now have all the components ready to put back together (cylinder, piston, rings, gaskets, etc). Anyone ever done this before? Specifically I'm worried about getting the rings on the piston and the piston into the cylinder. I've been reading on some of the moped forums about it but figured I'd throw this out there to see if any of you fine gents have any advice. If I can get this done then I can finally start working on my 750 engine again!

If it's worth doing, it's worth doing twice.
