Howdy fellas,

I will not be able to host this month (and probably not next either with the pending birth of "l'il boy").  I am equally disappointed in not having much time to even think about a longer trip/group ride.  We have been inundated with work in the shop, and it seems that most of it has been "emergency" in nature, and left me with no free time.  I look forward to some sane hours again soon, but judging by the increased frequency of my very pregnant wife's contractions, it looks as though spare time is about to be a commodity in my house!  If anyone else is planning one I may be able to join in, but even that is sketchy... Ahhh the joys of small business  ::)

Cheers all!

Christopher

HI Chris,

good to hear that all is well on the baby front.  ;D

AND......from one small business owner to another..Busy ain't a bad thing!  All that extra dough can go towards your son's 1st bike.

Blake....and anybody else...

I'm thinkin I might cruise up that way this Saturday or the next.  If your around we can run up to that park you mentioned.  Let me know if your going to be around either Saturday...and anybody from down this way that might want to ride..give a shout.

later,

Aight ya bums....(except Chris....the soon to be new Dad)...I had a nice cruise up to The Smith House for lunch.  Took my daughter.  Great weather.  Needed some company though.

I'm thinkin y'all traded the SOHC's for Harleys. ;D ;D ;D

Plenty of good weather left.  Let'd do a ride.  Y'all post up here and let me know.

Sorry Bill,

I won't be riding with y'all anymore. I sold my old my SOHC for a super deal on a Kymco scooter.   The power they added with the new "People 150" unit was too hard to pass up.  Think about it:  $2800 get a new fuel-efficient ride WITH a warranty.  Try getting thsat with your old CB500!  Wait till you see the "wine-berry/silver" paint scheme.  You'll be sold too.

Back to reality... I did NOT sell anything, and I am NOT  getting a "People 150"....  Just messing with you.  I have been covered up in early AM and weekend service work, and if that was not enough, my wife is in that "pre-birth" nesting phase, and I have been trying to keep my "honey do" list caught up.  L'il boy is due in 2 weeks, and I am training a new lead man for our fabrication shop... It all hits at once.  On the bright side though, I have been commuting regularly on the 750, and managed to rack up over 6k miles since spring.  Not bad considering it is mostly in my 16 mile commute.

Hopefully the birth goes well, and I can have a bit of time for one or two rides before our sensible riding time ends.  I'll be in touch!

Hi Chris and everybody else

Chris, You get the "about to be a new dad" pass my friend.

I HAVE ordered my wine-berry / silver paint for the 550.  I think I'll use a roller.   ;D

Great to hear that Mom is doing well.  Get your a$$ in gear and get that list done.

Had a good ride Sat.  Came out of Gville on 52 and next thing I knew we were right by your place...went on up to The Smith House for lunch and then up to Suches.

Hope to hear about the Lil boy soon.

You take care and the rest of y'all....post up and let's ride.

Hi guys.

My notifications for the thread must have stopped.  I was looking for emails if anyone posted wanting to go for a ride last month and just figured no one was interested.  I guess I should have jumped on the board and double checked.  I'm terribly sorry about that.  I would love to host a "Ride In".  Considering the current heat, maybe we should try for September?  It's been over 100 degrees around here for at least a month.  I hate it.  Let me know what you guys think, and I'll be sure to check the board again.  Don't forget the Barber's Vintage Festival in October.  Maybe we can get a group meet up / ride going.

HI Blake and everybody else,

I still want to go up through Ellijay and cut across to your kneck o the woods.  It is hot though....especially since y'all shamed me into getting a protective (hot as hell) riding jacket. ;D

I'll be watching the board and I'll be up for it if any of y'all want to cruise up that way.

As for the Barber deal, I would love to put together a ride in and camp trip.  I came close to going last year and decided it would not be much fun going it alone.

Let's keep planning and we just might pull it off.

Post up y'all.

Howdy,

The big news has arrived:  little boy is here!  Ramsey Lee was born Sunday morning at 12:16am.  7lbs 2 oz and 20".   Just like our first, my wife walked into the hospital fully dilated and ready to push.  We had a baby an hour later, with no meds or interventions.

Cheers all!

Another "biker for the gang".  How bout a CT 70 in about 7 years?? ;) ;) ;)

In the meantime I'll be on the lookout for an "infant sidecar".

Chris,

When you get time...pm me with y'alls address.

Give a shout if you get the urge to ride a bit.

Bill,

I suppose thats a good reason to get moving on the completion of my '72 CB350 twin!   I'll be sure to break it in good for him between now and when he is ready!

Cheers,

Bill,

I am game!  it looks like the little guy is going to be failrly cooperative for Momma, and by the time Barber comes around, I am sure I'll be able to get out.  I would personally do a Friday-Saturday thing...

Hi Chris,

Glad to hear that things are good with mom and baby. ;D ;D

The Barber thing is gonna be cool.  You might talk me into coming back Saturday as well..especially if we can get an early start Friday....We'll see.

I do think it would be cool to take Bankhead Hwy US 78 for a bunch of the way and stay off I-20.

Travis and Ray and Karin have jumped in....waiting to hear from Blake.  Post up on the Barber thread and get on the list.  Sounds like a bunch of forum folks are going.

I'm thinkin we better reserve camping pretty soon.

Holler if ya want to take a ride in the meantime.  I am gonna be running up to Dahlonega in the next couple of weekends and see if the bike shop up there has one of those cool magnetic tank bags.

Lookin forward to it.

Bill

Thanks!  Megan did all the work  ;)  .   She is one of those awesome gals that lets me sleep at night, and takes care of the little mans' feeding needs herself (she's nursing).  I have offered to help (setting up "the pump"), but she insists that its not necessary.  There's certainly no bottles to wash!   Have you thought about going to Barber in October?  I was hoping to find a few folks that wanted to ride together...

Hey y'all NE (chicken city etc.) guys...............

My Daughter and I just got back from a cruise through the countryside.  Reminded me that we probably have a couple of good weekends left.  And...after all...we are supposed to "go look at the leaves".

Y'all post up or call if you want to try to plan something before it gets too cold.

Might be a good time to stretch out the new wheels Chris.   ;D

PS

I saw this pic and for some reason it seemed like something Travis should try.......

I agree Bill, I'm up for trying anything once. ;)  Also the wing is currently down and will be for quite a while.  It had a head gasket leak when he got it, and after tearing things down to fix it we found more damage then we like in cylinders 2 and 4.  So now the engine is coming out to get the cylinders cleaned up so he can have lots of trouble free miles on it.

I also agree we need to ride again.  That is if I can figue out what's oing on with my 350.

Any way talk to ya later Bill.
