There are times I shouldn't go into that shop. ;)  It's can be worse than the Inspiration Thread for creating that 'I want it, I want it' feeling. ;D

It's such a great feeling though.
Fab frame!

The worst part is I have all the major parts (engine, front end, rear wheel assembly) sitting in boxes, waiting rebuild.  AirTech can supply the fairing, and seat.  Just need a frame, and tank to build one.  Oh and bunch more cash. ;) :)  Maybe that's a 2012 build thread.

I'm thinking I should just declare myself to be a 'mobile mechanical artist', and apply for a government grant. LOL

Yeah, because being a gov't funded artist is where the REAL money is! ;)

FWIW, I'm not a shill for Race Tech - I've just got a thing for good suspension and the RTCE's are the most cost-effective mod for these old damping rod front ends.

Thanks Syscrush, beat me to it.  Zaipai, check out the vintage section, lots of great options there for our bikes.  They even do a CR750 seat that uses the stock hinges & lock. ;) :)

Cool a TZ750.  Brian Henderson could be riding one at the 2011 VRRA Festival. :)  It suppose to be there this year, but... :(

Hei T

just came across this thread now.... should check "projects" more often.

good luck with the build

BTW the way, im no TZ expert but what makes you think its a TZ750 and not a 500? Cant recall Barry Sheene riding one.

He had some rides on a 680 special RG suzuki on non GP races but by the time he moved on to yamahas he was only on gp 500's, again, might be wrong...

The position of the pipes tg.  Didn't occur to me that it might be a 500, so I could also easily be wrong.  The 700 also had pipes positioned similarly, but they are even rarer beasts.  I don't usually pay much attention to the paint jobs, look at how many Daytona CR paint jobs are around, on non CR750's. ;)  Did go back and look at the picture, after your post, and the tail isn't right for an early 750, so you may very well be right.  That said, body work was constantly changing, and that bike also has an alloy swingarm.  It was the frame, shock, swingarm setup that prompted Syscrush's post, and got my attention.  Maybe Syscrush will chime in, with more details on the bike, then we can find out for sure.

Fast Freddie was one of my hero's (and rode Honda's), along with Barry Sheene, when I was growing up.  It was the people, not so much the bikes, that fascinated me back then.  Had a Arai FF replica helmet for a long time.  Was going to buy one of the new AGV Sheene replica helmets (their beautiful), until I got a deal on an Arai Phil Read. ;)  The Arai's fit me perfectly, so that tipped the scale.

I was told that it is indeed Bazza's bike (LOVE those commonweath nicknames) - I don't know if that would make it a 500 or 750.

I stand corrected.  Thanks Syscrush.  And no TG not that kind of spare coin, although there is a lottery draw tonight, better go and get a ticket. ;) :)  There's a TZ750 for sale in the UK, so it would be a tough choice though. :)

I'm bumping this thread while Tinner's out on the road.  I don't know, it just felt like the right thing to do. :)

Thanks Syscrush for the bump.

Unfortunately this was taken a bit of a back seat while I put all me efforts into getting the 550 cafe completed for the GNRS.  It should start to roll again once I return.

There's nothing unfortunate about what you've done with the other bike - this bump was to spread the love, not to pester for updates. ;)

Have fun in CA!
