Man, I love this car!

If anyone is looking for a really nice car for work commuting, I HIGHLY recommend this car!

1,8 Liter motor, 10.5 compression, SOHC, Coil on plug ignition, 140 HP

Sticker Price USA was $19.5K, I got it for $700 below dealer cost, $16.9K.

How?  I simply told them what I would pay for it....let them mill it over, asked them again a week later, and they grudgingly said okay.  It came with $400 dollars worth of rubber all weather floor mats, rubber trunk mat, and mud flaps.

Wheels were $1140 at the Tire Rack online....incuding the Tire Pressure Monitors in the wheels.

Anyway, just thought I'd share.

Love that color!  My daughter had a 99 Civic that she beat the heck out of, still got a solid 10yrs of reliable service out of it, just traded it off a couple months ago for a jeep cuz the Honda didn't have enough ground clearance for 4 wheelin.. Go Honda!!

The Si has a DOHC motor....2.0 Litre, 197 HP rated, 6-sp manual

This motor is SOHC, 1.8 Litre, 140 HP, valve shim adjustment needed every 30,000 miles.

I wanted an Auto tranny, and I saved a ton getting the LX.

The EX was a fancier model, but I didn't want a sunroof.  Thre rear disc brakes I would have LOVED to have, but I was able to score the deal I got because they had a TON of LX's on the lot, and they gotta move inventory.  Had my choice of color, and the GF told me to get one "with some color" not white, so I picked the blue.

Thanks for the positive comments.  The car is just a joy....I feel spoiled in it.  The wheels really make a difference I think.

Anyway, just wanted to let others know...these cars are real gems.

Hard to kill a good civic if you do the basic maintenance. I have a 93 Civic with 200,030 miles on it. I think I paid $3500 for it 10 years ago and I have put shocks, tires, an O2 sensor, a new muffler, and an AC condenser on it. Other than oil, gas, brake pads, plugs, and wires I have not had to replace any other parts.

I get about 36mpg mixed driving and if you total everything up I have averaged about $.08 per mile for gas. With the cost of purchase and maintenance spread out over the 100,000 miles or so I have driven it being about $.06 per mile that means $.14 a mile total cost of ownership for me. Hard to beat it really, even the bikes have cost me much more since I burn through tires and other maintenance items faster on them and do not get that much better gas mileage out of them.

Very nice!   I have always liked the Civics and we almost got one when we were shopping for a new car last year, but we really wanted a 4-door hatchback and they don't make a Civic like that anymore, so we got the Nissan Versa instead.

All have been driven over 200,000 miles before trading.
They are bullet proof.

i've wanted one of the new si's for about 5 years now!!  they are SO much fun to drive!!!  just a little "rocket" that handles very well stock!  and the intake sounds sublime!  great cars, wish i could afford the monthly payment for one!!

The fit are REALLY nice. I wanted one, but could only swing an aveo. Theyre also nice, but man those fit are sweet.

It would be nice to afford a nicer larger car, but fits get the job done.

I just read that in Japan the civic will be discontinued and replaced with the fit.
