dyna coil wires
« on: September 06, 2010, 02:31:48 PM »
Does anyone have a better way of securing plug wires to Dyna coils other than soldering, at the connector? When I soldered mine this spring, I remember there being to much smooth material in the connector supplied with the coils, to really hold solder properly. I stuffed the thing hoping the mass would touch all sides and not disrupt the current.  Now one of my plug is firing intermittently and I'm rethinking solder.

What kind of Dyna coils? I've got the 3 ohmers that use a standard male plug wire. Maybe a pic will allow someone to form an idea of a better way? Jim

I have the three ohm dyna coils. The connectors that came with either the z1 wires or coils, (I don't remember) are basically a metal tube, with a place to crimp the insulator. The rest of the tube is of larger diameter then the ignition wire. I could take a picture in a few days.
