Fast, reliable, (some would say "bulletproof") not good handlers, (but no worse than most Jap bikes of the era) parts availability is good, including lots of performance parts from MTC and the like. Buy them both and sell the "chopper" to go towards the parts you'll need for the road bike. Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Crazy is a very misunderstood term, it's a fine line that some of us can lean over and still keep our balance" (thanks RB550Four)

I would run the other way.  Looks like a bunch of junk, mismatched and missing parts.

Shoot, my phone died while I was out so I just now got back home. I just didn't know enough about them so I wasn't comfortable getting them right then. I kinda lost my chance to jump on them tonight, they will probably be gone tomorrow. Pretty sure I could have flipped them for just a little but...

And just to educate myself so it does not happen again, what should I look out for with these? I see them all the time as the later police bikes but dont really see a lot of the early ones (that would interest me) and the early always seem to go for a lot.

So give me the KZ crash course  ;D

What you really want is the Z1, say '72 - '75. Those were the first true superbike and are worth a lot. Or the triples - 500 or 750cc.

Great engines, handling leaves a bit to be desired as Terry said but can be upgraded, i love them and would have jumped on those...

They're worth more than that in parts alone.

Can't find any around here running or not for less than $1000. I'd have jumped on them. The KZ inline fours are rock solid bikes.
